Culinary Perfection at Silan: A Fusion of Mediterranean and Israeli Delights
It's rare to go to a restaurant and have every dish hit it out of the park on the first shot. Well, that was the case when we visited the newest restaurant at Atlantis, Silan. Created by award-winning chef Alon Shaya, Silan offers a unique and delicious fusion of Mediterranean and Israeli cuisine that together produced what could only be considered as foodie perfection.
A Culinary Adventure
Silan sits at the heart of the Atlantis casino in the same space that originally hosted Olive's, the previous restaurant that was also Mediterranean. What separates the two, however, is a world of flavor—some that were even new to our palate, so we weren't quite sure what to expect or where to start. Tip: Whenever we visit a new restaurant and aren't sure how to approach the menu, we lean on the waiters to help us make the best choice. Per their recommendation, we went with the shrimp and lamb hummus. The shrimp were cooked just right, and the lamb hummus put all hummus we ever had before then to shame. Who knew something so healthy could taste so delicious? Accompanied with their fried bread, it was a match made in heaven.
Unforgettable Entrées
For our entrées, we had the lamb that literally fell off the bone and was coated in a sweet and savory pomegranate sauce. The grouper and couscous was super flavorful, and the steak cooked to the right temperature of our liking and delicious enough to land in our Top 5 list of best steaks on the island. Dessert took it over the top with a Nutella Babka that was simply out of this world! When you combine ice cream, Nutella, and pastry made with lots of butter, you just can't go wrong.
A Memorable Experience
Overall, we had a great experience at Silan and think it warrants a return. The staff was friendly, the food was bomb, and the cocktails uh-mazing! Not a bad first impression if we do say so ourselves.
